From 12th May 2007 you'll be able to fly direct from New York (JFK) to Lamezia Terme (SUF) without having to change. There will be a brief stop at Bologna on the way so it is not a non-stop flight but this could lead the way to many more direct flights from major American cities if it proves to be popular

There must be hundreds of thousands of Calabrese Italian Americans up and down the east coast and this flight is bound to be popular with people going back to the old country to visit friends and family without the hassle of a stop over.

Initial flight timetables will have one flight per week on this route leaving on Saturday and returning to New York on Sunday
