Barclays Bank are now offering up to 80% mortgages for UK buyers of Italian property

It is a little known fact that Barclays Bank have been established in Italy for over fifteen years now. This means that they have a great understanding of the whole Italian property buying process and they know the housing and financial markets very well.

This lender will be able to give you practical expert advice when it comes to making a purchase in Italy. Barclays are the only UK lender with an established presence in this country although that is likely to change in the near future as more and more UK buyers look to invest in Italy

There are also excellent lending services available from Italian financial institutions such as the Banco Monte dei Paschi di Siena (one of the worlds oldest banks) and the well known Banco Di Napoli. These banks are well used to dealing with mortgage enquries.

As with any mortgage it is advisable to shop around and do as much research as possible before choosing a lender for your loan.
